Portrait Day - Wed, Nov. 10th 9:00am

Please take a moment to stop in the office and complete a Portrait Permission Form.  The photographers will not take a picture of a child whose form is not signed!  The portrait is taken from the waist up with 3 different poses.  You may have your child wear whatever you choose and can send a change of clothes to be put on after the portrait is taken.  The photographer will provide us with a day 2-3 weeks after the Portrait Day in which they will bring all photos to the school and parents are able to view, purchase, and take home that day.  Please let us know if you have any questions!

Composting

Participate in composting from home:
Greens: Please save your scraps from fruits and vegetables. (raw without dressings or oils on them)
Browns: Coffee grounds (with filters), tea bags (staple removed), soil, plant trimmings, and dryer lint.

Please keep in a reusable container and bring to the school. After the children add materials to the compost your container will be returned to be refilled.

If you are interested in composting at home:
Many of the City waste management services offer a compost bin to customers for a $5.00 deposit. You will be amazed at how much can be added to the compost bin and thus reduce the amount of garbage going into your black bin (and landfills)! Will also cut down on the use of plastic garbage bags and save you $$$!

Reminders

Happy Monday!

Just a reminder that tuition is due on Wednesday, Sept. 1st and considered late after Friday the 3rd.

We hope to see you all at Parent Orientation on Wednesday at 6:00 pm!  Our reusable shopping bags will be available for purchase (1 for $6 and 1 for $10).  A portion of the proceeds will help us start on our Fall harvest in the garden.  Use these bags when you do your grocery shopping as many stores offer a bag rebate.  May we also suggest using them to transport your childs change of clothes, blanket, and/or stuffed animal to and from school each week.

"Just one cloth bag, during the course of its long and prosperous lifetime, will eliminate the need for more than 1000 plastic bags!  So just think how many trees and resources you'll saveby utilizing just one bag let alone a four-pack of them."  http://www.green-kits.com/paperorplastic.html

Welcome Back

We are pleased to have all of our students back for the new school year.  Please remember that parent orientation is Wednesday, September 1st at 6:00 pm.  Please make sure to attend this informative meeting.
